Hi and welcome to Silver Ridge Cattery – a Norwegian Forest Cat breeder based in Falköping, Sweden. We raise Norwegian Forest cats in a family home environment.

Norwegian Forest cats are a large long-haired breed of cat originating from Norway and were believed to be kept by the Vikings on their boats to keep pests under control!

This is a ”natural” breed, meaning it developed primarily without human intervention and thus are greatly suited to their native environment with dense water-proof coats and large tufted paws.

They are characterized by their lynx-like ear tufts, angular eyes and triangular shaped face, which creates a striking profile!
